As we noted last week, Private Escapes enjoyed significant appreciation on their real estate portfolio. Now they have announced a significant expansion of that portfolio with the addition of seven new homes.
Regular readers will recall that Private Escapes offers two membership plans, Escapes and Platinum. One feature of the Platinum plan is that the club “distribute[s] 18% of the appreciation from real estate holdings as a club credit” to members. The club proved to have a hot hand last year but, as you may have heard elsewhere, past performance is no guarantee of future results.
Private Escapes’ membership plans are structured similarly in terms of usage and services, however the Escapes members have use of residences valued in the $750,000-range while Platinum members enjoy the use of $1.5MM homes. As is evident in the chart below, the Platinum homes tend to offer more space and for us, this is the real distinction between the two plans. Also of note is that, with an advertised 6:1 member-to-home ratio, we can infer that the addition of these seven residences coincides with the addition of 40-odd new members between their two plans.
The seven new additions span North America and the two membership tiers. We’ve organized the residences in a chart below.

As we’re fond of saying here at Helium Report, “destination club coverage is nothing without coverage of the destinations.” In that spirit we’re kicking off a week of featured home coverage. We begin tomorrow with a post on one of High Country Club’s homes and work our way up the luxury ladder each day..
